American television and stage actor, Taurean Blacque, popularly known for his role as Detective Neal Washington on the series Hill Street Blues, has di3d at the age of 82.
The actor’s family verified to Deadline that Blacque died on Thursday, July 21, in Atlanta following a brief illness. Rodney Middleton, his son, revealed the news on Facebook, writing in a post:
“Thank you all for your prayers, calls, and texts to me and my family. My father pass[ed] away today At 2:52 pm est.”
Blacque joined the cast of the police drama Hill Street Blues, staying with the show throughout its run in 1981.
While appearing on that show, he was nominated in 1982 for the Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actor in a Drama series.
