Roman Abramovich has confirmed his intention to sell Chelsea Football Club
Earlier this week, Labour MP Chris Bryant used Parliamentary Privilege to reveal that Abramovich is selling his UK residence as well as another flat.
Abramovich is now looking to sell the Stamford Bridge club, with Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss claiming he has been offered the opportunity to do so.
Chelsea owes Abramovich Ā£1.5 billion after he purchased the club for Ā£140 million in 2003.
However, the Russian billionaire insists that he will not seek repayment of any of the loans.
He also stated that:
“the sale of Chelsea will not be expedited, but will follow due process. This has never been about money or business for me, but pure passion for the game and club.”
Abramovich said in a statement today.
