A new commander for The Multinational Joint Task set up to fight Boko Haram has been annonced. This comes as a result of the fact that the former Commander, Brig-Gen. T. Y. Buratai was appointed as Chief of Army Staff.
Major General Iliya Abbah has been announced as the new commander of the Multinational task force. Until his appointment, Maj. Abbah was the head of operations in the Niger Delta.
The Multinational task force is a five nation strong force of Cameroon, Niger, Chad, Benin and Nigeria ,set up to fight what is quick becoming a regional problem. The multinational task force has its headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad.
President Muhammadu Buhari is on a visit to Cameroon and is also expected to visit Benin Republic tomorrow to iron out a few details about the Multinational task force.
