“The Vanguards Of democracy”, a civil rights group has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari is trying to imprison his predecessor Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
The group claimed that President Buhari has embarked on a witch hunt with an intention to put the former President behind bars on trumped up charges.
Despite reassurances during his handover that he wouldn’t focus on unnecessary probes of the former administration, President Buhari’s early moves suggests that there is going to be a serious investigation of key cabinet members of the Jonathan administration. Already, former National security adviser, Dasuki Sambo is under investigation as well as Jonathan’s former Chief Security Officer.
However, the Special Adviser to the President on Media, Femi Adeshina has dismissed the group’s claims as mere wild speculations.
