Police Confirm Gombe Blast, 50 Reported Dead

Twin blasts at the Gombe main market one day before the Muslim Eid festival has been confirmed by the Nigerian Police force. According to the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kudu Nma; “There was a bomb blast. The bomber was either on a suicide mission or the bombs were kept somewhere with the view to causing panic and apprehension to people.”

“People were busy shopping in preparation for the Sallah festival. The casualties are yet to be ascertained. As you can see, people are busy working, trying to save lives; for now we cannot tell you the number of casualties” He added

However, unofficial reports claim that 50 people died in the blasts with even more people injured.
