The Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in the Tudun Wada area of Jos yesterday was reportedly hit by a blast yesterday morning. New reports indicate that no casualties were recorded in the blast as a a result of the vigilance of a security guard at the church.
One of the bombs reportedly went off while an early service was in progress. A security guard on the church premises swung into action and quickly searched the church premises for other improvised explosives. One more explosive was found in the toilet and the guard quickly threw out the bomb.
The guard reportedly sustained injuries to his leg but he ultimately saved the lives of hundreds of worshipers. It is thought that this latest attempt is the handiwork of Boko Haram militants who have run rampant in recent weeks.
