The Falconets of Nigeria continued their domination of female soccer on the African continent, opening their 2016 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup finals campaign with a 7-1 rout of Liberia-
Perhaps the bigger disappointment for the Liberians was suffering such a whitewash in front of their home fans as the match took place at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.
The Falconets however, had much to celebrate with Yetunde Adeboyejo bagging a hat-trick and Amarachi Ojinma contributing a brace to the team’s efforts. The Liberians pulled one back late in the first half and by the 60th minute, the game was as good as over.
