Today marks the 20th commemoration of a tragedy that has shaped the world and reminds us all of the darkness humans are capable of.

In July 1995, Bosnian Serb soldiers orchestrated the mass killing of over 8,000 Muslim Serbians in the town of Srebrenica. It is undoubtedly the world’s largest tragedy in Europe since World War 2.

At the time of the genocide, Srebrenica was tagged a United Nations “safe area”, yet the U.N stood by and watched as the refugees at Srebrenica were murdered.

The Bosnian Serb Army was comandeered at the time by Ratklo Mladic.
Today, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic along with other dignitaries paid their respects at the grave of the victims.

He was pelted with rocks and bottles and was eventually forced to flee the commemoration.
