Adejumoke Aderounmu is an actor, TV producer/presenter and Event Compere.
Jumoke came in contact with acting and broadcasting as an International Relations undergraduate at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Battling with idleness during a long vacation, she got an unexpected opportunity to feature in a Yoruba movie – ‘Okun Ife Yi’ in 2007 and for her role as a nurse, the positive reviews she got from senior colleagues made her crave more but she had to wait a while.
While patiently waiting the moment, she continued her academic pursuit and graduated in 2008 with the NYSC taking her to Gombe State for national service.
Around this time, her big chance came knocking. She had auditioned for a role in Mainframe Production’s award winning movie – Arugba and she got the role of ‘Princess Mobandele’ in the 2009 Tunde Kelani film and after then she never looked back.
She has since worked with notable actors like Funke Akindele, Bimbo Akintola, Francis Duru, Antar Laniyan, Yomi Fash-Lanso and featured in movies like ‘Patriots’, ‘The Return of One More man’, ‘Okunfa’, ‘Amiwo’, ‘Awa Obinrin, ‘Awa Okunrin’, ‘Ka Sise bi Eru’.
Other outstanding performances include those in ‘The Unwritten’, ‘Asise Eda’, ‘Abbey Eleregbe’ and ‘Alakada 2’.
She recently featured in another Tunde Kelani film – ‘Dazzling Mirage’ and has been enjoying rave reviews from watchers in and outside the movie industry.
The 2015 movie has particularly launched a new dimension to Jumoke’s gift and professional career, considering her ability to shine among the star-studded cast.
The pint-sized multi-talented Jumoke’s dream goes beyond the movies as she also loves production. The talk show – Lounge, is one of her attempts at media production. This, she ventured into after having garnered some experience with Goldmyne Entertainment as Presenter/Producer of the Nollywood Digest Show, Box Office TV in 2011.
With her contagious positive energetic standing her out on and off set, she also became one of the most prominent voices on one of Nigeria’s first 24hour online radio platforms – Concert Radio, for which she launched the radio version of her show – Lounge.
In 2012, Lounge TV show went into production. The show which now airs weekly on www.dobox.tv offers loads of laughs, inspiration, insight on fashion and styles, exclusive behind-the-scenes and unheard stories of Africa’s biggest stars and upcoming talents.
Jumoke’s seamless ability to get into character with impeccable interpretation of roles has stood her out on every movie she has been part of.
With a knack for touching her audiences’ hearts, she remains committed to constant self development to achieve her dreams of being a major player in the growth of entertainment on the African continent.
Born in 1987, Jumoke grew up in a very disciplined family of 5.
Primary and secondary education were at St. Bernadette’s Private School, Ibara and Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School Onikolobo, both in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria.
