I’m going to take you through some more events that occurred in year 2012….Not so sure you can remember a whole lot of them.

Oja Ara (Wonder Market)
To celebrate Nigeria’s Independence anniversary, Oja-Ara, a unique mini-fair had its fourth edition in October. The theme for the Oja Ara Independence Edition was “Think Nigeria”, and it took place at Get Arena, V/I, Lagos, on 6th and 7th October 2012. The event was spiced up with Nigerian music and fashion. It was an exciting shopping experience, where attendees had the opportunity to win great prizes as they shop. Admission was free.
Jazz Event with George Benson
10 times Grammy award winner George Benson comes to town for a once in a lifetime performance alongside Nigerian Africano artist Lagbaja who is also set to entertain at the 3rd smooth 98.1fm luxury concert on 13 October 2012.
Sisi Oge 2012
SISI – OGE is a truly Pan-African establishment with the sole aim of preserving Africa’ culture and heritage.They are passionate about rebranding and promoting Africa’s image and cultural heritage and his run by Aregbe Olayiwola Idris.
The sixth edition of this glamorous event with an African aura was held at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos with side attractions such as Cultural Festival on Red Carpet, Arts exhibition, Beauty Pageant, Music and Awards on the 17th of June 2012 had Sikeola Olowe crowned as the winner.
Notting Hill Carnival 2012
Held each August Bank Holiday since 1966, the Notting Hill Carnival is the largest festival celebration of its kind in Europe.
Every year the streets of West London come alive, with the sounds and smells of Europe’s biggest street festival.
The Carnival Bands will take to the roads from around 9am on Sunday 26th August and the same time on Monday 27th of August. The Carnival parade should complete its procession by 7pm.
Sunday is Children’s day and Monday is Adults day
Music Meets Runway 2012
The Music Meets Runway (MMR) 2012 model casting held on Saturday, 13th of October, was a tremendous success with a huge turnout of young aspiring male and female models determined to begin or take a career on the runway to the next level.
The model-casting event held at the new N-Tyce Lounge on Karimu Kotun Street in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Y!Naija Hashtag Party
On 28th July 2012, the youth-oriented magazine Y!Naija in conjunction with Chocolate City held a hot, hip party tagged ‘Hashtag’ at the swanky Swe Bar! It was indeed an exciting melting pot of Fashion, Music and Twitter. The roll call of guests included: Audu Maikori, M.I, Jesse Jagz of Choclate City as well as Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Stella Damasus, Gideon Okeke, Ufuoma Ejenebor, Katung Aduwak, Linda Ikeji, Praiz, Inyanya, Tunde Ednut and Tee A, Yolanda Okereke amongst other notable figures.
One Mic Naija
One Mic Naija is an initiative of WEPLUGGOODMUSIC supported by M.et.al Entertainment and s.h.a.r.e Networks.
One Mic Naija is a monthly edition of the popular live band talent showcase. The October’s edition which held on 28th Oct. ’12 was tagged the ‘Independence edition’.
The following are the seven headliners for the month of October – Dammy Krane, Niyola, Big Mo, Oyinkansola, Solid Star, General Pype and Kaynon.
It usually hold at Browns’ Cafe, Ikeja.
Crack Ya Ribs
After staging spectacular concerts in Glasgow, London, New York, Houston and Dallas, Superstar Nigerian Comedian and Musician, Julius Agwu was billed and thrilled all Abuja residents at the 2012 edition of Crack Ya Ribs which took place on Sunday 30th September 2012 at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
