The ultimate dream of every Nigerian parent is to see their children pass through school, earn a degree, get a high paying job and live happily ever after. But unfortunately, the dream of going to school, securing a good job and living happily is now a fairy tale to the average Nigerian youth.

Below is a list of successful celebrities that have shown to the world that they can make it without a university degree.

Michael Collins Ajere popularly known as Don Jazzy is one of the famous Nigerians, who did not need education to achieve success. The prolific music producer and C.E.O of Mavin Records dropped out of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma in his first year.

2. Genevieve Nnaji

This hot and beautiful and award winning actress has not been able to acquire a University Degree, even several years after saying that she would go back to school. No doubt, she’s vividly intelligent and has a very good command of the English language.

3. Mercy Johnson

She is one of the highest paid actresses in Nollywood.  Mercy Johnson Okojie discloses that she got into the Nigerian movie industry because she failed her Jamb exams several times.

4. Van Vicker

5.  DBANJ

The Koko master is one of the leading musicians in Africa. He is on top of his career, clinching awards from left, right and centre. D’banj stopped school at his 300 level. He was studying Mechanical Engineering at that time.

He is one of the wave making musicians in the country and in Africa. He said he’s not a graduate yet, that he still has one more year to graduate.

7. RAMSEY NOUAH

He is a super star actor with class and speaks the English language flawlessly. But Ramsey is not a university graduate and he confirmed that in an interview.

8. Chidinma Ekile

She attended primary and secondary school in Ketu prior to relocating to Ikorodu with her family. Chidinma who initially wanted to study Mass Communication declined her admission into the University of Lagos due to her advancement in the Project fame competition.

Wizkid dropped out of Lead City University in his second year, not a few thought he made the wrong decision.

9ice attended Abule Okuta Primary School and CMS Grammar School, and dropped out from his Law course at the Lagos State University to concentrate on music.
