He also commended the Peoples Democratic Party for going on the right path, as the party had remained devoid of religious and ethnic divides.

President Jonathan told other members of the party at the meeting that his host was a dependable pillar that had continued to ensure the stability of Nigeria.

The President has held campaigns in different northern states in the last few weeks, reeling out promises of a better future for Nigerians if re-elected in the February 14 presidential election.

Few weeks back, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress and a former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, also paid General Babangida a visit, seeking his support and blessing, as he tries to clinch the presidential seat in a forth time attempt.
