Barely three days after a deadly attack by the terrorist sect Boko Haram led to the death of a reported 2,000 people, the insurgents have marched on the Yobe state capital, Damaturu.
This is the second attempt by the insurgents to capture Damaturu after an attack on the government house less than two months ago only to be repelled by the Nigerian Army.
Fortunately, reports have it that the Nigerian Army has also succeeded in repelling the insurgents again.
It is not immediately clear what the casualty figures are and we await an official report from the Nigerian Army.
