Alhaji Babatunde Saka has been declared missing since Saturday December, 2014.
According to Punch report, Sixty-seven-year-old Saka is the All Progressives’ Congress Ward Chairman of Ward C, Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Agege, Lagos State.
Alhaji Saka, an indigene of Agbowa, Ikorodu, Lagos, had fallen ill two weeks ago and had made a trip to Abekuta, Ogun State, last week Wednesday for medical treatment.
It was gathered that upon his return, the politician was advised by medical personnel to rest at home and take his drugs to aid his recovery.
Saka left the house as at 1.30pm on Saturday and since then he has not returned.
When our correspondent visited the politician’s home on Wamon Taofeek Avenue, Abule Egba, Lagos, on Monday, it was learnt that the family had reported the matter at the Oko Oba Police Division.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, the chairman’s wife, Mrs. Josephine Saka, said the family was getting increasingly worried since Saka had no habit of leaving home without anyone’s knowledge.
She said, “Alhaji was ill last week and we travelled to an Abeokuta hospital for his treatment.
“When we came back on Thursday, he began to use his drugs and relax at home as advised by the doctors. There was a burial ceremony we were to attend on Saturday, but I told him to stay at home while I went.
“He once had amnesia, but that was months ago and he had been treated. So, I attended the ceremony in the Mushin area on Saturday at about 1pm, while Alhaji was at home with one of our daughters, Fausat, and our granddaughter.
“After about 30 minutes, the two noticed that Alhaji was not in the sitting room. That was how it started and all efforts till now to locate him have not been successful.
Please if you have any information about his whereabouts, kindly report to the police station next to you.
