Pharrell, posing with his GRAMMY nomination list on CBS “This Morning” alongside Ed Sheeran, nabbed 3 nominations for his album G.I.R.L. and song “Happy”.
And Beyoncé is grabbing the headlines for becoming the most nominated woman in GRAMMY history
Beyonce nabbed FIVE nominations today (so far), which means she just broke the tie with Dolly Parton as the most GRAMMY nominated female in history. She and the “I Will Always Love You” originator were tied at 46….until today. Beyonce is now currently at 51. And COULD be at 52 once Album of the Year is announced tonight during A Very Grammy Christmas special on CBS.
.
She has won 17 so far…and could very well surpass this number soon.
Tied with Beyonce at 5 nods is Iggy Azalea, who nabbed a Best Rap Album nomination. She’s up against Childish Gambino, Common, Eminem, SchoolboyQ and Wiz Khalifa. It’ll be interesting (and we’ll just keep it at that word) to see if she will be able to put that Best Rap Album Grammy next to her new Best Rap/Hip Hop Album American Music Award.
