MTN Project Fame Week 7: Ruky, Geofery, Clement  And Christian Make Top Exceptional Performance List At The Reggae/Dancehall Night

MTN Project Fame Week 7: Christian Went Wild And Played The Part, As Taiwo Loses The Battle

Kick off! Wow! So far it’s been a wonderful 7 weeks into the competition as contestants get fiercer and the game gets tighter!

To open the show, contestants brought Late King Of Pop, Micheal Jackson (RIP) to life as they performed some of his greatest hits including Earth song, Heal The World, Man In The Mirror, Black and White, Beat It, and Thriller – with the help of their wonderful dancers and stage props, they danced, switched and moved. It was colourful and a classic moment.

After a rigorous week of work, 10 contestants battled with their voices to reggae and dancehall hit songs.

On stage came Emekus who looked confident and got off to a great start as he performed “Rat Race” by The Mandators. The judges loved his performances, commented it was good, but cautioned him not to shout. The members of faculty on the other side, commended his great performance also took note to work on his shouting.

Next up was Flourish who didn’t do too badly when she performed “Workerman” by Patra

Judge Adebantu thought she had no connection with her audience, but the faculty thought she was co-ordinated.

Cutey, Ugo performed nicely to UB40’s “Cherry Oh Baby” as guest judge, Paul I.K dairo remarked that Ugo took him to Kingston Jamaica. The members of Faculty thought he worked hard, loved his performance and had fun on stage.

If only Tiwa Savage could see what Ruky did to her latest hit “Wanted” live on stage – she twirled, twisted, turned and thrilled the audience which she received a standing ovation.

The judges thought it was a beautiful and flawless performance, while the members of faculty commended her lovable stage performance and the fact that she entertained everyone.

Christian gave an amazingly synchronized performance when he rendered Bob Marley’s “Natural Mystic” – we were thrilled!

The panel of judges, especially Paul I.k Dairo thought he didn’t need to be under any influence to pull a stunt like that, and they advised him to keep taking risks. The members of faculty commended his nice energy and super interesting performance.

A believable and powerful delivery, Geofery didn’t go soft on Majek Fashek’s “Genesis”

The judges commended that he gave the audience pure entertainment but “a never seen before performance!” Ms Ige thought it was brilliant and that she especially was bursting with joy.

Moving ahead, the fighter didn’t take it lightly, despite his broken leg, he sincerely delivered when he performed “Try Jah Love” by 3rd world.

The judges thought he truly delivered despite his condition and the members of faculty commended that he didn’t care about the pain he but took control and brought it all to win.

Wild Card, Daniella still growing strong performed “I’m Still In Love With You” by Sean Paul. The judges commended her nice vocals and thought she did she her best. The members of faculty thought it was amazing.

 

Debbie showed her audience how to get a man down as she performed one of Rihanna’s biggest hits “Man Down” she was straight on point!

The panel of judges acknowledged they felt good and she looked more comfortable when she performed. The members of faculty who thought she gave her best, yet a brilliant and nice performance.

To close the show, Shola truly brought his all when he performed “Alubarika” by Patoranking. It was fun to watch.

The judges thought he was in control, he wasn’t distracted and he owned the material. While the members of faculty thought it was brilliant, he was in control and stayed in character.

After all said and done, the judges respectively picked their top exceptional performers for the night and yes – Geofery, Clement, Christian and Ruky made the list.
