Who ever heard of Opera at the Cinemas?! Well, it’s very possible and it’s happening right here in Lagos and other parts of the Country as “Event Cinema” comes to Nigeria! The unique concept which offers alternative content to movies via visually refreshing stories told using the timeless ‘Opera’ platform is being introduced to Nigeria by FilmOne Distribution, in partnership with The British Council. We can’t wait to see this!!
This laudable feat is the first of its kind in West Africa and kicks off with Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes, one of Britain’s most significant operas; as performed by the English National Opera in stunning cinematic high definition. The screening holds exclusively at all locations of FilmHouse Cinemas from July 25, 2014. A ‘must see’ opera in Nigeria, Peter Grimes is brought to you in partnership with Altive Media and is proudly supported by the British Council.
