The debris of an Indonesian aircraft belonging to Trigana Air which was reported missing over the Papua region two days ago has been discovered.
The aircraft is thought to have crashed into a mountain peak before falling into a ravine. All 54 passengers on board the plane have been confirmed dead.
The aircraft was reportedly carrying $470,000, meant to serve as relief money for remote villagers. It’s a forgettable year for Indonesian aviation with the latest crash bringing the total number of air casualties in a year to three.
