Utomi, Aganga, Awosika, Others Set To Grace Employment Summit 2012

Stakeholders’ Conference on Employment to showcase employment opportunities. A stakeholders’ conference on Employment, tagged Employment Summit 2012, will hold in Lagos, on October 30 and 31, and will have in attendance, the likes of Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Professor Pat Utomi, Mr. Tonye Cole, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, amongst others.

The theme of the conference is ‘Employment and Human Capital Crisis in the 21st Century – Turning the tide’ and is put together by Employment Clinic Limited to expose Nigerian youths, graduates and the unemployed, to the opportunities that exist across industries in the country.

According to the Executive Director of Employment Clinic, Ronke Kosoko, “the task of putting 40million unemployed Nigerians back to work goes beyond an administration; it demands on the contribution of all stakeholders.”

The Employment Solutions Strategist and convener of the conference said, “the industries, the academia, employers, job seekers, multinationals, NGOs, and religious organizations will be providing thought leadership on the employment situation in the country at the Employment Summit 2012.”

Kosoko who is the author of the book, Get out of Unemployment, also stated that, “this stakeholders conference will open up attendees to unimaginable opportunities that exist across industries, especially the Maritime and Shipping, Power and Energy, as well as the Transportation sector.”

The keynote address at the event will be delivered by the Honourable Minister for Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga while the Special Guest of Honour for the event is the Honourable Minister for Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu.

Prof Pat Utomi will be speaking on “A Seamless School to Work Transition for Nigerian Graduates; Bridging the Gap Between School & Industry” while Mrs. Ibukun Awosika will share thoughts on “The Asian Incursion & The Future of Employment in Nigeria.”

There will also be a panel session, which will involve the likes of Mrs. Detoun Ogwo of the After Graduate Development Centre (AGDC), Mr. Jimi Tewe of Inspiro Consulting, Mr. Steve Harris and Mr. Bankole Williams, both of EdgeEcution Consulting.

The event will kick off at 10 am each day (October 30 – 31, 2012) at Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel, 292B, Ajose Adeogun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
