Kenyan Afropop band Sauti Sol is prepared for an indefinite hiatus after a worldwide tour.
“We are excited to announce that Sauti Sol, Africa’s sensational musical powerhouse, will embark on an exhilarating tour stopping in 5 cities across the US, followed by 10 stops in Europe and 4 stops in Canada before taking an indefinite hiatus.” Sauti Sol said in a statement.
The group which comprises of Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi, and guitarist Polycarp Otieno started in 2005 and believes the hiatus ends a specific chapter.
“While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter, it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol.” The group added.
Although Sauti Sol’s proposed global tour does not include a stop in Africa. The group has proven to be one of the continent’s greatest exploits.
