Tiwa Savage to perform at King Charles III’s coronation ceremony

Award-winning singer, Tiwa Savage, has been invited to perform at the coronation ceremony of the British monarch, King Charles III.

The BBC has announced that Tiwa Savage is part of a group of international musicians who will be performing at the coronation concert, which will take place on the grounds of Windsor Castle as part of a three-day celebration produced by BBC Studios.

This event marks the first time a Nigerian artist has been invited to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony.

The coronation ceremony itself will take place on May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey, where King Charles III will be officially crowned alongside Queen Consort, Camilla.

The following day, May 7, 2023, a coronation concert and Big Lunch will be held, which will feature Tiwa Savage and other well-known artists such as Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Take That, Paloma Faith, Steve Winwood, Lang Lang, and Nicole Scherzinger.

The concert will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
