Robert Sylvester Kelly popularly known as R-Kelly has been moved from a Chicago correctional center to a medium-security prison in North Carolina.
Benjamin O’Cone Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told AP News that the singer was transferred from the Metropolitan Correctional Center Chicago to the federal correctional institution in Butner, North Carolina.
The bureau did not disclose reasons for the singer’s transfer due to privacy, safety, and security reasons.
R-Kelly in February, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for child [email protected] and enticement of minors for $ex. The 56-year-old Grammy Award-winner will also serve simultaneously a separate 30-year sentence on racketeering and $ex trafficking convictions in New York.
