On Friday, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, called for the arrest of Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment.
Isiguzoro accused Keyamo of attempting to incite those calling for an interim government to prevent the swearing-in of President-elect Bola Tinubu.
Isiguzoro made the call in response to Keyamo’s letter to the DSS requesting the arrest of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, over alleged inflammatory remarks.
Isiguzoro stated that Keyamo’s actions could inflame tensions in the country and called for his arrest instead of Obi’s.
Ohanaeze has worked to ensure that their supporters are respectful and law-abiding, and they believe that Keyamo’s letter could incite violence and weaken democracy.
Therefore, they are urging the DSS to question Keyamo and provide evidence for why Obi should be arrested.
