Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has every reason to celebrate today as she marks two special occasions: her 27th wedding anniversary and her husband’s birthday.
Omotola, who has starred in over 300 films since her Nollywood debut in 1995, married Captain Matthew Ekeinde in March 1996. The couple has been together for more than two decades, and their union is blessed with four children: Princess, M.J, Meraiah, and Michael.
To celebrate their double-in-one milestone, Omotola took to her Instagram page to send birthday wishes to her beloved husband. In a heartwarming post, she describes him as her “forever honeyboy” and hints at an exciting future ahead, writing, “27years and we only just about to get into phase 2! Last kiddo now 21….no more PG….Ready love? Love U Endlessly.”
The couple’s love story has been nothing short of a fairytale. In 2001, they held a white ceremony on board a Dash 7 aircraft while flying from Lagos to Benin, with close family and friends present. Their enduring love has been an inspiration to many, and Omotola was honoured in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013, alongside Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, and Kate Middleton.
Omotola is not only an accomplished actress but also a successful entrepreneur. In 2012, she launched her own reality show, “Omotola: The Real Me,” which chronicled her daily life, family, and career. She has also been involved in various philanthropic causes, including her role as an ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme.
