Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have failed to conclude, and the 29th of April fight is now off.
Talks to make the undisputed heavyweight title fight has failed to conclude, Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk confirmed.
Usyk will now look to make a defense of his heavyweight title against WBA mandatory challenger, Daniel Dubois.
Reports had earlier suggested progress was made over the weekend which led to the positivity around the fight being made, but the pair could not agree on several critical terms to ensure a deal was inked. It remains unclear what could be next for Fury given question marks were raised over his readiness to compete in the ring.
Alex Krassyuk, Usyk’s promoter told Talksports today and announced ‘with huge regret in my heart’ they had pulled the plug after Fury made several unrealistic demands.
“There was a list of things he wanted to get in his favor which were unacceptable and complete disrespect to the unified champion and former undisputed champion,” he added.
Usyk holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF world heavyweight titles, while Fury has the WBC and Ring Magazine belts.
