After securing a second term in office, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has increased the salaries of public servants in the state by 20 percent. The governor expressed his administration’s dedication to improving the welfare and well-being of public servants in Lagos State in a circular by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

The 20 percent salary increment affects officers in the mainstream public service, local governments and local council development areas, and the State Universal Basic Education Board, effective from January 1, 2023. In addition, the arrears for the months of January and February 2023 will be paid along with the salaries for March and April 2023, respectively.
