Patrick Vieira has been sacked by Crystal Palace after 18 months in charge.
The Arsenal legend leaves Selhurst Park with the Eagles 12th on the Premier League table, three points above the relegation zone.
Crystal Palace has not confirmed who will replace Vieira or take charge of Sunday’s Premier League game against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Palace chairman Steve Parish admitted, “It is with enormous regret that this difficult decision has been made. Ultimately, results in recent months have placed us in a precarious league position and we felt a change is necessary to give us the best chance of retaining Premier League status.”
Patrick had a significant stint when he joined the club. He led them to a Wembley FA Cup semi-final and a respectable 12th-placed finish last season playing some exciting football. His loss against Aston Villa last week clouded management with doubt which led to his untimely departure.
