Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, has reported an alleged attack on his entourage during a campaign stop in Epe, stating that they were fired upon.

However, the police have yet to find evidence of the incident. Rhodes-Vivour described the incident as an attempt to assassinate him and stated that he had received many threats about potential assassination attempts.

He also said that other candidates were shot at during the same incident. Rhodes-Vivour explained that when his convoy was leaving, a group of young men tried to block the road, but the police and DSS were able to neutralize the situation.

Rhodes-Vivour later tweeted that the campaign rally was successful despite the attack.

The police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, did not respond to requests for comment but stated to Daily Trust that the police had not seen any evidence of an attack on supporters of the Labour Party in Epe.
