Lawyer clarifies confusion on Rhodes-Vivour’s Labour Party candidacy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

According to the legal team representing Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the authentic flagbearer for the Lagos State governorship election under the Labour Party (LP), recent court cases brought against his candidacy have been dismissed.

Olagbade Benson, the Lead Counsel, along with Uchechukwu Ani and Kemi Afesojaye, dismissed the claim made by former LP candidate and Chairman in Lagos, Ifagbemi Awamaridi, that he had a case against Rhodes-Vivour.

Benson declared that the affidavit being presented by Awamaridi as the true position of the court is fake and that two judgements from the Federal High Court and Court of Appeal confirm Rhodes-Vivour as the authentic candidate.

Benson cautioned that anyone presenting themselves as the party’s candidate other than Rhodes-Vivour, and those alleging cases before the court, are misleading the public.

Benson also explained how Awamaridi’s lawsuit was dismissed by the Federal High Court on December 8, 2022. The legal team advised interested parties to request a copy of the judgement, which is a public document. Benson added that the PDP’s case against GRV’s candidature was also dismissed on December 8, 2022, at the Federal High Court.
