Sanwo-Olu’s visit to Oyedepo not political, says Akosile
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

According to Daily Independent, Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has denied that the governor’s recent visit to Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners’ Chapel, had any political motives.

Sanwo-Olu had shared a photo of himself and Bishop Oyedepo on Twitter, which some Nigerians alleged was a ploy to gain votes before the upcoming elections.

However, Akosile clarified that Sanwo-Olu has always been a devout Christian and had visited Bishop Oyedepo on numerous occasions in the past, even when there were no elections.

Akosile described Bishop Oyedepo as a man of God whom the governor respects, and linking the visit to politics was “preposterous.”

Sanwo-Olu is running for re-election as the governor of Lagos State on the All Progressives Congress platform in the governorship and State Assembly elections on Saturday.
