Arsenal’s sublime performance this season was recognized at the London Football Awards which took place yesterday.
Arsenal’s captain Martin Ødegaard picked up the Premier League Player of The Year award at the event.
The Norwegian has been blistering for the Gunners this season in their attempt to win a first league title in 19 years, contributing with 10 goals and 6 assists.
Ødegaard beat off Harry Kane, Ivan Toney, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and team-mate Bukayo Saka to clinch the big prize.
Bukayo Saka went home with the Young Player of The Year for the second time, having also won it in 2021, while Arsenal’s goalie, Aaron Ramsdale was named Goalkeeper of The Year.
Mikel Arteta won the manager’s prize and paid tribute to his players, staff, and fans in his acceptance speech.
‘I would like to thank you for the award, for all my colleagues, all the staff, everyone at the club that inspires & supports me, and all the supporters that support our club and football in general,’ the Spaniard said.
Arsenal sits five points clear at the top of the Premier League table after a convincing 3-0 win over London rivals Fulham on Sunday.
The Gunners will return to action against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Thursday before hosting Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday.
