The family of rapper Constantinos Tsobanoglou, known as Costa Titch, has paid tribute to the 28-year-old, just hours after it was learned that he had passed.
Costa Titch passed away after he collapsed on stage during his performance at the Ultra Music Festival on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
In a statement released on Sunday, the family of the rapper and dancer express their grief, in the wake of his passing and also thank South Africans for their support.
“[email protected] has tragically knocked on our door, robbing us of our beloved son, brother, and grandson, Constantinos Tsobanoglou.
“It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time.
“We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours of death. As a family, we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves.”
The rapper was performing at the Ultra music festival in Nasrec Johannesburg when he collapsed.
The Big Flexa hitmaker was born in Nelspruit and enjoyed a rapid rise in the industry with his mix of hip-hop and amapiano music. He recently partnered with Akon’s label and they remixed his hit song, Big Flexa. The original has more than 40 million YouTube views.
This news comes just a month after South Africans woke up to the news of rapper AKA’s death. AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, was gunned down in Durban outside a popular eatery.
