Lagos BRT driver begs crash victims for forgiveness

The driver of the Lagos State Government staff bus involved in the train collision at the PWD/Shogunle railway line in Lagos has requested forgiveness from the victims of the accident.

According to survivors, the driver, Oluwaseun Osinbajo, had his earpiece on while driving and ignored the directive of the Flag Officers at the rail line. However, the driver claimed that the incident was due to a mechanical fault in the bus.

He has been transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department.

The driver expressed his remorse, saying, “It is a pity this has happened. I beg everyone affected to please forgive me in the name of God.”

The accident caused injuries to 79 out of the 85 passengers on the bus, who were treated for different injuries and transferred to various hospitals. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited the injured at LASUTH, where he disclosed that 42 had moderate injuries, 29 had serious injuries, and eight had mild injuries.
