Ayra Starr has been making waves ever since her song Rush dropped. Her most recent single Sability is the bop of the town.
Speaking with Nairobi news, Ayra gives details as to how music started for her. “My career did not start till I was 18. My mom said I had to go to school first before, I could do any type of music, so it was school first”.
She went further to explain how she graduated from the University at 18, studying International Relations and Political Science at Benin Republic.
She admitted to being a bookworm and even with her tight schedule finds time to read and take lessons in French. She described herself as an excessive book reader. For her reading is her “solace and escape”.
“I come from a very musical background, so music was always something I knew I was always going to do at one point, but I just prioritized education first”, she added.
When speaking about her hit song Rush, she appreciated the love she was getting and the views she garnered on YouTube.
As for her most recent single, she tagged it as an “unserious” studio session. Her goal with the song was to get people all over the world dancing, as she had it with songs while growing up. She expressed excitement with the positive remarks the song is getting.
Ayra Starr is proof that education does not have to stop anyone from actualizing his/her dreams. All that is needed is for one to understand his/her purpose. Ayra understood her purpose and is now taking the world by storm.
