Michael B. Jordan’s debut film as a director, Creed III peaked at a major milestone after its release on the 3rd of March, 2023.
According to Box Office Mojo, a worldwide opening weekend of $100.4 million has put Creed III in rarefied air. In three days, it has became one of only three 2023 Hollywood releases to have passed the $100 million benchmark. M3GAN, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and the Bollywood Pathaan complete the list.

Creed III is the third entry in the Creed franchise, which follows Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the son of the character Apollo Creed from the Rocky franchise. Although Sylvester Stallone did not return to reprise his role as Rocky Balboa for a third time, the film sees the return of Tessa Thompson as Bianca Taylor and Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago alongside franchise newcomer Jonathan Majors as Damian Anderson.
Creed III broke the record for the highest-grossing weekend of any theatrical film put out by Amazon Studios. By the end of the weekend, the film also proved to not only have the best opening weekend of the entire Creed franchise but of any sports film of all time.
Rotten Tomatoes rates the movie 86%, with a 96% audience score, making it a must-watch for movie lovers. At this rate, the movie may set more records at the box office.
