It was a total annihilation at the Anfield stadium as Liverpool thrashed Manchester United 7-0 to keep their hopes alive for a top finish and a spot in the Champions League next season.

The Red Devil who has just been crowned champions of the Carabao Cup after defeating Newcastle United produced a disaster class at Anfield stadium.

Speaking with Sky Sports, United Legend Roy Keane faulted Bruno Fernandes‘ attitude in the game. He said, “Fernandes’ body language was nothing short of disgraceful, He’s a talented boy but he’s your captain. So much talent but his body language of waving his arms about and not running back? You wouldn’t be happy with him in your dressing room.”

When questioned about the defeat, Manchester United coach Eric Ten-hag told Sky Sports, “I’m disappointed and angry, especially for our fans. We let them down, but also as a squad, as a team, you can’t allow this. You have to stick together, you have to fight with each other and support each other, and you have to defend. That’s what we didn’t do.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping their team shows this type of form in their 2nd leg tie against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. Liverpool has to cancel out a three-goal deficit after losing 5-2 at Anfield. The second leg tie will take place on the 15th of March, 2023
