Acclaimed author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie , says it is a shame Nigeria has never had a female governor.

"There is also something really sad that we have not had a woman governor in this country. I think it is shameful if you sit back and think about it".

Adichie further emphasized in her speech how she hopes for women to be given the same chances as men in the Nigerian political space . Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was speaking at a special fundraiser in support of female candidates in the upcoming Nigerian general elections organized by Women In Successful Careers, WISCAR.
