Simon Ekpa, a Nigerian separatist leader based in Finland, has continuously called for a boycott of Nigerian elections in the Southeast region of Nigeria despite being under investigation by the KRP.
“Mark my word the process of Nigeria’s disintegration for a better society starts tomorrow,” said Ekpa during the Twitter Space.
He also informed his followers and the rest of the Nigerians to know that he is the one talking and not a robot as alleged by people.
“Nigeria is not working and it will never work, from tomorrow you will know that there are people who have made up their minds to leave Nigeria and the process of Nigeria’s disintegration begins now. Mark my word the process of Nigeria’s disintegration for a better society starts tomorrow,” Ekpa added.
“Nobody will be seen in the street. We are going to sit back and watch how you deal with each other because I know some of you know you have decided to channel your energy to the wrong cause that supported one Nigeria. We are going to sit back and see what you do with yourself from tomorrow and that tomorrow will mark the beginning of the end of Nigeria,” He continued.
Ekpa, a Finnish citizen who is also involved in local politics in Lahti, where he serves as a member of the public transport board, orders his followers in a Twitter space session with over 37,000 guests in attendance which lasted for an hour 4 minutes on Friday.
Despite his social influence and his well-known and partly feared position in the Southeast region, estimates of the number of gunmen loyal to him vary greatly, and his exact position in the separatist groups is unverified.
Many local residents interviewed say that they have followed the curfews imposed by Ekpa out of fear, not of their own free will.
The Nigerian government has asked Finland to intervene in Ekpa’s activities and prevent it, and the Central Criminal Police suspects him of the crime of money laundering, which is currently under investigation.
