INEC has clarified that the court order regarding Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) does not affect its engagement with him, as the commission has no contract or relationship with him.

The controversy arose over INEC’s decision to work with the Lagos State Parks Management Committee (LSPMC), which is headed by MC Oluomo, to distribute election materials.

The federal high court in Lagos had barred INEC from engaging the services of MC Oluomo. However, INEC signed memoranda of understanding with transport workers’ unions to register vehicles and drivers for election day, and each driver is assigned a contract with the commission.

INEC has clarified that it does not have any relationship with MC Oluomo and the court order has nothing to do with the commission.
