During a Sunday service, Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, urged his congregation to support Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
The pastor declared his family’s full obedience and background support for Mr. Obi, adding that he and his wife would be voting for him, and those who loved him should do the same.
He criticized other presidential candidates, warning his members not to vote for “nonsense,” “insecurity,” “tribalism,” “ethnicity,” or “bigotry.” He also accused some of his friends of supporting an undisclosed candidate solely for their personal gain.
While Mr. Suleman is a controversial figure who has been accused by female celebrities of inappropriate conduct, he praised Mr. Obi as the only presidential candidate who had not “destroyed the nation.”
Nigeria’s presidential election is scheduled for February 25, 2023.
