Obi blamed bad leadership for the insecurity, says he can fix Nigeria

As the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi believes he has the ideas necessary to fix Nigeria if elected.

He emphasized that his ambitions are not driven by desperation, but rather a desire to see a thriving nation where everyone is cared for, especially the poor. During a recent interaction with journalists in Damaturu, Yobe State, he attributed the insecurity in Nigeria to poor leadership.

Obi visited the Emir of Damaturu and members of the town’s Emirate Council to discuss his plans for the country.

He stated, “I am not desperate to rule Nigeria. I want to see a Nigeria that is working, one that cares for the poor. We have ideas on how to combat poverty and bring people out of it.”

Obi believes that Yobe, being an agriculture-based state, should be a shining example of prosperity and plans to invest heavily in agriculture to make the state an agricultural exporting hub.

Obi decried the current state of insecurity in the country, promising to tackle it by giving it the attention it requires while also working to eliminate poverty. He also spoke of the government’s neglect of the common people and how he plans to reverse this trend when elected.

He concluded by saying, “Our journey is to build a new Nigeria where everyone is proud to be a Nigerian, regardless of their origin.

We want to reverse the negative trends of the past ten years, including insecurity, poverty, unemployment, and out-of-school children.

We believe in Yobe’s potential and will invest in its agriculture to uplift the people out of poverty. We want to stop corruption and make this election about trust and character.”
