The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has said that the police and other security agencies are prepared for any intended t#rrorist attack on Lagos.
Hundeyin, during a Twitter Space webinar, on Saturday, was responding to questions from our correspondent on reports of a possible planned attack on Lagos by t#rrorists and the readiness of the police, where he noted that the police were also getting intelligence reports.
There are strong indications that two t#rrorist groups, the Islamic State West Africa Province and Boko Haram, are planning to attack some states in the North-West, North-Central, and South-West. Security agencies had gotten a security report that ISWAP and Boko Haram planned to strike Lagos, Kaduna, Kogi, Katsina, and Zamfara states as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
Already, suspected t#rrorists had two days later (Thursday) attacked a military checkpoint at Zuma Rock, a border between Niger State and Abuja, the FCT.
The recurring attacks across the country have left Nigerians bothered about the safety of their lives, their relatives, and their property.
Reacting to this, Hundeyin said, “We are working seriously with other security agencies. Many times that I am with the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, the Department of State Services keeps sending intelligence reports to us.”
