Veteran Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, has acquired a luxury apartment reportedly said to be worth over N700 million in the highbrow Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
According to Instagram blogger, Cutie Julls, who broke the news on the internet, Nnaji named her new house “Playhouse,” which reportedly is meant for her relaxation and hanging out with friends.
Genny, as she is fondly called by close friends, apparently needs no introduction. She is a Nigerian actress, producer, and director. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actor to win the award. She has recorded many firsts in the Nigerian film industry to date.
Recently, the multi-award-winning screen goddess shared on Instagram her own take on the incessant South African xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.
She posted:
“A life with us isn’t the worse thing. They need to see one without us. They’ve shown us countless times who they are. Let’s believe them. It’s time to show them who we are. But most importantly, it’s time we believed in ourselves.
“They see our potential; our greatness. We need to see it too. It’s tough out here I know, but sooner than later we’ll have to realize it’s all we’ve got. We have to make sure our energy and resources are beneficial to all things…”
