President Buhari Celebrate Okorocha at 59, King Sunny Ade at 75
President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with former Imo State Governor and senator representing Imo West, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha on his 59th birthday.
He also showered encomiums on Nigerian legendary Juju Musician, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, better known as King Sunny Ade, on his 75th birthday today, 22nd September 2021.
In a statement in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, President Buhari said he had been observing Okorocha’s visionary leadership style and development strides in various sectors of life.
Also, President Buhari lauded the courage and innovative spirit of King Sunny Ade who is the first Nigerian Grammy Awards nominee.
The President noted that the musician had contributed so much to stamp the image of Nigeria on the international entertainment map.
A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said,
“The President extols the courage, foresight, and innovative spirit of the music artiste, who has since graduated into an authority in the literary and theatrical world, sharing his talent as a visiting Professor of Music at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, and championing many development causes.
“President Buhari believes King Sunny Ade’s several nominations for the Grammy, being the first Nigerian for such recognition, brought the spotlight on Nigeria’s multi-talented artistes, creating opportunities for many nominations and an eventual win that further boosted the country’s image among the comity of nations…”
