Tokyo Olympics: Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye Crash Out In Wrestling
Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekuoroye has crashed out in the wrestling event, after she lost her 57kg weight category fight in the ongoing Games.
Adekuroye who was leading Anastasia Nichita of Moldova 8-2, was defeated by a fall in the Round of 16 clash.
However, If Nichita reaches the final, Adekuoroye may have an opportunity to compete for a bronze medal through the repechage.
In wrestling, a pin (or fall) is when you put your opponent on his/her back with any part of both shoulders or both shoulder blades of your opponent in contact with the mat for two seconds. When you pin your opponent, the match is over and you are the winner.
