President Buhari has stated that the agriculture policy of his administration has generated employment for the country.
He made this disclosure while welcoming the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Dessalegn on Friday, July 2. He said that the country had to fall back to agriculture as petroleum was no longer an option to sustain the country.
Buhari noted that his administration has embraced technology and some people are even leaving offices to go back to the land. He added that Nigerians now eat what they produce because the importation of many food products has been halted.
He said;
“We needed to go back to the land, as petroleum could no longer sustain the country, particularly with fluctuating prices.
“Today, we eat what we grow, and we have stopped importation of many food products. There’s no foreign exchange to even waste again.
“Agriculture has also helped us to generate employment. We have embraced technology, and some people are even leaving the offices to go back to the land. And they are not regretting it. That is the feedback we get.”
In another report, Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s media assistant, has disclosed the liking of Buhari to the governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum.
Adesina wrote an article titled “Where did this Zulum emerged from?”, where he gave credence to the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari admires the governor for his contribution to his state in terms of infrastructure despite the insecurity plaguing them.
