The 78th annual Golden Globe Awards, during which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association reward the best in television and film from the past year, kicked off the 2021 Hollywood awards season on Sunday.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the show remotely, due to the pandemic.
The television winner of the night was The Crown, which won four awards in the television drama categories, while comedy Schitt’s Creek and limited series The Queen’s Gambit, each won two. Nomadland and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm took home top honors for film.
John Boyega was named best supporting actor in a TV series for his performance in Steve McQueen’s Small Axe
Nomadland’s Chloé Zhao was named best director, becoming only the second female winner of the category in Globes history, after Barbra Streisand in 1983.
Chadwick Boseman won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture
