Nigerian singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade has been appointed a global ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
In a statement released by UNDP on its official website, “Yemi Alade will mobilise support for the Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on fighting inequality, empowering women, and raising awareness to the impacts of climate change.”
In reaction to the appointment, Yemi Alade has taken to her Instagram page to express her excitement to join the United Nations Development Programme as a goodwill ambassador. She also promised to be a champion for the Sustainable Development Goals and shine a light on the impacts of Covid-19 on the poorest and most vulnerable communities.
