26-Year Old Charlette N’Guessan Becomes the First Woman To Win the 2020 Royal Academy of Engineering’s Africa Prize for Innovation

Charlette N’Guessan, a 26-year old Ghanaian woman is the winner of this year’s Royal Academy of Engineering’s Africa Prize for Innovation, making her the first ever woman to get the award. The award was announced at a virtual ceremony with Charlette, winning £25,000 prize, which is around $33,000.

Charlette N’Guessan is the CEO and co-founder of BACE API, a startup that focuses on digitally identifying people’s identities through facial recognition and AI — which is a tool that could transform cyber security on the continent.
