Lieutenant Victor Agunbiade, a Nigerian man, has made Nigeria proud as he was honoured by the United States Navy for judiciously managing the US Navy’s largest overseas cash disbursement office well.
Lieutenant Victor Agunbiade was able to manage and account for $45M in the largest overseas cash disbursement office of the United States Navy, without a single dime missing. He was given the Navy & Marine Corp Commendation Medal for his meritorious service while serving as a disbursing officer at the Comptroller Development Camp Lemmonier in Dijbouti between October 2019 to July 2020.
Lieutenant Victor Agunbiade was also praised for maintaining 100% accountability of $23M across six rigorous inspections and independent audits, with zero discrepancies.
According to the award citation, “by his unswerving determination, wise judgement and complete dedication to duty, Agunbiade reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.”
